Tattoo Aftercare
The superficial healing time for tattoos is approximately 2 weeks.
Do not swim or use a sauna during this time.
In addition to dirt, it's a good idea to protect a fresh tattoo from the sun.
The ink will continue to settle in the skin for several months, so it is a good idea to continue to oil the tattoo from time to time, and to use sunscreen in the summer.

Piercing Aftercare
Do not touch your piercing with unwashed hands. Always wash and dry your hands thoroughly before touching the piercing or the area. Even touching a healed piercing unnecessarily can spread bacteria to your skin and your own bacteria to surfaces you touch (phones, doorknobs, etc.).
Do not remove the jewelry from the piercing or move or touch the jewelry during the healing period. Removing the jewelry from the piercing during the healing period often leads to rapid closure of the piercing or puts strain on the piercing hole. Moving the jewelry unnecessarily exposes the piercing to bacteria that can enter the piercing hole with your hands and irritates the piercing. Cleaning and caring for the piercing area should be done without removing the jewelry.
Use only water and saline solution for cleaning. Saline solution purchased from a pharmacy, sodium chloride 9 mg/ml. Rinse the piercing site 1-2 times a day for 5 minutes with water and soak the skin area with a gauze pad moistened with warm saline solution 1-2 times a day for 5-10 minutes. There are a total of 2-3 treatments per day. The purpose of cleaning is to gently dissolve all dried tissue fluid around the piercing hole from the healing skin and to reduce swelling.
Disinfectants, oils, tea tree oil, other oil-based products, or antibiotic creams should not be used for treatment. They will either dry out and irritate the skin unnecessarily or clog the piercing hole.
All piercings experience tissue liquefaction as they heal, and this liquefaction should not be confused with inflammation. Inflammation is often accompanied by severe redness, pain (not just when moving the jewelry), swelling, and severe pus. If your piercing is infected, the first thing to do is to contact your piercer.
Piercing jewelry should not be removed from an infected piercing on your own, as pus can become trapped in the wound.
The sores that come with piercings can also be part of the healing process or a sign of irritation from the piercing, so it's a good idea to ask your piercer for specific care instructions.
Avoid swimming, standing water, and saunas for 4 weeks after getting your piercing. After getting your oral piercing, do not share eating utensils or exchange bacteria with other people for a few weeks. Do not change your piercing too early. Please let your piercing heal before changing your jewelry for the first time. The healing time for a piercing can be anywhere from 2 to 12 months, depending on the piercing and how well you follow the care instructions. If a piece of jewelry that is too short is pinching your skin during the healing period, always contact your piercer to change your jewelry. Your piercer will also advise you if you need to go to a store to change your jewelry for a shorter healing period (for example, tongue piercings and helix piercings).
What is normal with a fresh piercing? Initial and healing redness, swelling, soreness, bruising, pain when moving the jewelry or after sleeping with the piercing on, itching, dry skin, and small amounts of blood.
